Trail Overview

The Punta de Teno trail follows the rugged volcanic coast through the Teno Rural Park, one of the island’s oldest geological formations. The path passes through abandoned agricultural terraces, through stands of tamarisk and along dramatic sea cliffs before reaching the lighthouse at Tenerife’s western tip. The views of Los Gigantes cliffs from this angle are unlike any other.

Access to the Teno area by private car is restricted on weekends and holidays — take the shuttle bus from Buenavista del Norte. The route involves some scrambling on uneven volcanic rock.
