Trail Overview

Roque Nublo (1,813 m) is a volcanic plug and symbol of Gran Canaria. The circular trail from La Goleta car park climbs through pine and rockrose scrub to the base of the 80-metre monolith, with 360° views across the island to Teide on clear days. The adjacent Roque El Fraile (The Friar) adds to the cathedral-like atmosphere of the plateau.

The summit plateau can be windy and is often in cloud by midday — morning starts give clearer views. A small café at the La Goleta car park serves coffee. The route can be linked with the Presa de las Niñas reservoir loop for a longer half-day walk.
